The Yarn

For this month’s Dishcloth of the Month Club project I used approximately 86 yards (78 meters) of Paintbox Aran Cotton yarn. This yarn is 100% cotton. Each 50 g ball contains approximately 93 yards (85 meters).

Paintbox Aran cotton yarn creates durable dishcloths in bold colors, that hold up beautifully to countless cleaning tasks!

Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran comes in a wide range of bright rainbow colors. It’s a soft, machine-washable yarn that’s perfect for everything from kids’ and adults’ clothing to home projects.

Check out all the bright colors this cotton yarn line includes here. I chose Lipstick Pink (Color 652) for my Beginner Crochet dishcloth this month.

Notes:

  • Stitch multiple: 2+1
  • Initial ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
  • Initial ch 2 counts as 1 hdc.
  • When I work into the foundation chain, I prefer working into the back bar (back bump) of the chain. Feel free to work in the back loop instead if you prefer.
  • To make this dishcloth longer, work more repeat rows by repeating R2 and R3.
  • To make this dishcloth wider, chain more stitches using the stitch multiple.
