Dropped double crochet (drdc): A double crochet stitch worked into the unworked front loop of a stitch located directly below and 2 rounds before.
The stitch will be worked in the front loop of the stitch immediately below the next stitch in the current round. The stitch on the current round will not be worked into, this is indicated in the instructions.
The double crochet stitch is worked as a regular dc stitch: Yarn over, insert the hook under the front loop of the specified stitch, yarn over and pull up 1 loop. Yarn over and draw through 2 loops, yarn over and draw through last 2 loops.

Notes:
- Multiple of 5
- You may substitute your favorite method for starting in rounds for the DMR (double magic ring) if you prefer.
- Initial ch 1 and ch 3 does not count as a stitch and we do not work into it.
- Sl st to join is made in the first st of the round (skipping over the ch 3).
- You can make your slip stitches tightly as we will not be working into them.
- Work the first st of each round into the same stitch that has the slip stitch join and initial ch 3.
- If you’d like to increase the hat height, work more repeat rounds.
