Supplies

  • Yarn: Elle, Alula Double Knit. 5.29 oz (200 g) and 656 yds (600 m). 100% Acrylic. DK Weight Yarn [3]. Machine wash wool cycle 30°C, do not tumble dry, do not bleach, iron on low setting.
  • Color:  1 skein Parrot (624).
  • Crochet Hook: 4 mm (G) and 5 mm (H)

Sizes Preemie to 6-12 months are sized to fit to approximately mid-earlobe. Sizes 12-24 months to Adult Large are sized to fit approximately to the base of the earlobe. 2-3 inches negative ease (stretchy hat).

  • Newborn: 11 inches circumference X 4.7 inches height
  • 0-3 months: 13 inches circumference X 5.3 inches height
  • 3-6 months: 14 inches circumference X 5.3 inches height
  • 6-12 months: 15 inches circumference X 5.9 inches height

This project is crocheted from the band to the crown in one piece.

Preemie Fanfare Hat

The hat band is worked in turned rows.

Using your 4 mm (G) crochet hook (or size required for gauge) and leaving a 6 inch tail of yarn:

R1: Ch 6, sk the first ch, 1 sc in each rem ch across, ch 1, turn. [5 sc]
