FPsc Stitch Tutorial

Front Post Single Crochet – often abbreviated as FPsc or fpsc

Make a single crochet around the post of the specified stitch by inserting your hook from the front of your work, to the back of your work and then back to the front of your work; around the post.

Step 1: Insert your hook from the front of the work to the back of the work and then back to the front of the work; around the post of the specified stitch.

Step 2:  Yarn over the hook

Step 3: Pull up 1 loop

Step 4:  Yarn over the hook

Step 5: Pull through to complete the stitch

Now let’s try the FPhdc stitch.

FPhdc Stitch Tutorial

Front Post Half Double Crochet – often abbreviated as FPhdc or fphdc

Make a half double crochet around the post of the specified stitch by inserting your hook from the front of your work, to the back of your work and then back to the front of your work; around the post.

Step 1: Yarn over the hook and insert your hook from the front of the work to the back of the work and then back to the front of the work; around the post of the specified stitch.

Step 2: Yarn over the hook

Step 3: Pull up 1 loop. You now have 3 loops on your hook.

Step 5: Pull through all 3 loops on the hook to complete the stitch

Now let’s try the FPdc stitch!

FPdc Stitch Tutorial

Step 5: Pull through 2 of the loops on the hook. Two loops left on the hook.

Step 6: Yarn over the hook.

YOH Pull through remaining 2 loops FPdc tut @oombawkadesign

Step 7: Pull through the remaining 2 loops on the hook to complete the stitch.

  2. I’m not quite sure what is this stitch used in? Is it mostly used in blankets or clothing. I have heard of it but it is definately over my head.
