  • Yarn: Btrix Delighted with Merino 100% Merino Sockweight Yarn.  Fingering Weight / 4 ply / Super Fine Weight [1] . 50 g (1.76 oz); 165 m (181 yds). 100% Merino. 
  • Crochet Hook: 4.5 mm Clover Amour
  • Finished project used: Approximately 100 g
  • Scissors, Yarn Needle, Stitch Marker.

  • Easy (Basic crochet stitches, simple shaping and finishing)

Finished Size

  • Approximate size of sample: 10 inches (25.5 cm) wide x 38 inches (96.5 cm) long.  

Gauge

  • Approximately 5 sets of (2 tr, ch 2, 1 dc) in 4 inches.

Not essential for this project. Use any Fingering weight yarn, or your favorite yarn (see “How to Make this With Any Yarn and Hook” at the end of the pattern. Adjust the size easily by working more or fewer rows.

This project is worked widthwise in rows.

Using your 4.5 mm crochet hook, or size required for gauge:

R1: Ch 38, sk the first 4 chs, (1 tr, ch 2, 1 dc) in the next ch. *Sk the next 2 chs, (2 tr, ch 2, 1 dc) in the next ch**. Rep from * to ** across. Turn. [12 sets (2 tr, ch 2, 1 dc)]

R2: Ch 4 (counts as 1 tr), sk the first dc, (1 tr, ch 2, 1 dc) in the first ch2sp. *Sk the next 2 tr, (2 tr, ch 2, 1 dc) in the ch2sp, sk the next dc**. Work from * to ** across. Turn. [12 sets (2 tr, ch 2, 1 dc)]

Rep R2 until your project measures approximately 38 inches (96.5 cm) long; or your desired project length.  

Proceed to finishing instructions.

Finishing Instructions

  • Finish off.
  • Weave in ends.
  • Block gently.
  • Add a decorative button.

How to Make this Project with Any Yarn and Hook

  1. Choose your favorite yarn and the hook indicated on the yarn label.
  2. Chain until your foundation chain measures approximately 10 inches (25.5 cm) across; or until you reach the width you’d like for your project.
  3. Double check that the number of chains can be divided by 3 evenly, then add 2 extra chains.
  4. Follow the pattern as written until you have reached a length of approximately 38 inches (96.5 cm); or until you reach the length you’d like for your project.
  5. Follow the finishing instructions and you’re done!
